Aspire Benjamin Holt Academy
Stockton, CA
Aspire Benjamin Holt Academy, a public charter school serving students grades 9 through 12, needed additional space for learning to accommodate their expanding curriculum. To address this need, Aspire partnered with Studio Bondy to construct a new 10,000-square-foot building on their existing Stockton campus. The new facility includes classrooms, seminar rooms, and spaces for administrative and intervention support services.
While the campus primarily consists of modular buildings, Aspire sought a more adaptable building type to accommodate future changes. The new building, constructed with concrete masonry unit (CMU) exterior walls and a wood truss roof system, leverages local suppliers to reduce costs and the design allows for easy modification of classroom partitions, ensuring future flexibility.
To integrate the new building seamlessly into the campus, the design incorporates signature campus colors in the painted cement plaster, and entry canopies add articulation to the façade. These elements enhance the building’s visual appeal and create a welcoming learning environment.
