A small addition transforms and connects this classic San Francisco Edwardian with its garden. The kitchen is illuminated by a new skylight and a lantern of clerestory windows that capture daylight as the sun slices between tightly adjoining neighboring houses. The lofty space pulls light deep into the kitchen, creating a warm breakfast nook that is effectively a garden room. The end product: a small change for a dramatic effect.
