Stuart Hall for Boys
San Francisco, CA
Completed 2010
This historic 19th-century mansion is home to Stuart Hall for Boys, a K-8 day school. The design conceptually inserts a new building into the historic shell, bracing and anchoring to a new foundation while preserving the exterior. New elevators, systems, and modern educational spaces are all integrated with the existing structure. Historic interior details, such as decorative pilasters and balustrades, have been restored. The exterior design includes upgrades to play yards, a formal pedestrian entry, and student commons.
