For Laura, architecture is akin to alchemy – transforming the aspirations of students and teachers into tangible, inspiring spaces. Her passion lies in designing projects where the users are at the heart of the design process, such as libraries and schools. She excels at creating innovative environments that foster collaboration, innovation, safety, security, and comfort.
Her background in printmaking informs her appreciation for the iterative nature of design, adding and amending as the process unfolds until construction is complete. Laura holds an undergraduate degree from Occidental College and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles. She was appointed by Governor Newsom to be the architect member of the California Building Standards Commission.
